BIKING 2018 (Short Film)
Set to Frank Ocean’s Biking, this short film follows the story of four friends—myself included—as we slowly lose our innocence while getting caught up in dealing drugs to pay for my grandmother’s medication. What starts as a desperate attempt to do something good spirals into a story about loyalty, guilt, and the cost of growing up too fast. The film blends raw, naturalistic performances with lyrical visuals, using the rhythm and tone of the music to underscore the tension between youthful freedom and the weight of real-life consequences. It’s a deeply personal piece that explores how far we’re willing to go for the people we love—and what it takes from us along the way.

Back in 2018, my friends and I set out to make a short film that pushed us both creatively and technically. With no formal crew and limited resources, we spent six months shooting and editing the project, juggling schedules, learning on the go, and refining every detail frame by frame. It was a true passion project that taught us the value of patience, persistence, and resourceful filmmaking. Looking back, that experience laid the foundation for how I approach every project today: with care, intention, and a commitment to seeing the vision through, no matter how long it takes.
Biking went on to screen at a range of independent and genre-focused film festivals, where it was recognized for its storytelling, direction, and emotional impact. The film received multiple awards and honorable mentions, including recognition for best short film and original concept. Being part of the festival circuit gave us the chance to share the story with new audiences, connect with other filmmakers, and see the film resonate beyond our own circle—an experience that continues to motivate and shape the way I create.
